Take-Away | Fall 2025
For my Materials course, I selected flax (grown), ABS (oil-based), and neodymium (mined) to design a product that leveraged each material’s properties within an optimistic future context. I created a picnic bag that unfolds into a blanket, inspired by the structure of a Chinese takeout box. Linen provided flexibility and comfort, ABS added structure, and neodymium magnets secured the form. The project emphasized iterative prototyping and hands-on fabrication, including learning to sew and integrate rigid panels into soft goods.
